Foot stability: the basis for a healthy posture

Our feet are the foundation of our body and play a crucial role in stability and balance. Healthy foot stability not only affects walking and standing, but also the entire musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic insoles and targeted exercises provide important support to compensate for foot mipositions and prevent long-term complaints.

Our feet are the basis of balance

Our feet carry our entire body weight and absorb shocks. If foot stability is impaired, this has far-reaching consequences for the body. Foot malpositions such as flat feet or fallen arches can disrupt balance, leading to excessive strain on the knees, hips and back.

Foot malpositions and their effects

The most common foot deformities include flat feet, fallen arches and splay feet. In flat feet, the arch of the foot is flattened, which can lead to uneven weight-bearing and long-term deformities. In fallen arches, the longitudinal arch sinks, impairing the foot’s natural shock absorption, which in turn puts strain on the entire musculoskeletal system. Splayfoot leads to pressure pain and deformities such as hallux valgus due to a lowered transverse arch in the forefoot area.

Our approach to improving foot stability

At neja, we take a holistic approach to improving foot stability. Thanks to our many years of expertise and the necessary sensitivity, we create customised foot orthoses that are tailored to the respective foot shape and deformity. These orthopaedic insoles support the foot in restoring its natural function and at the same time promote the balance of the entire body. We also offer workshops in which targeted exercises are shown to strengthen the foot muscles and improve mobility. This combination of customised insoles and training ensures that foot stability is strengthened in the long term.

Get active yourself

You can take action yourself to prevent or counteract foot malpositions by integrating a few simple habits into your everyday life. Walking barefoot is an excellent way to strengthen your foot muscles and promote the natural movement of your feet. You should also make sure you wear suitable footwear that supports your feet and offers sufficient space. Regular exercise keeps your feet flexible, and targeted exercises to strengthen the foot muscles help to improve stability. Don’t forget to stretch your feet and calves regularly to maintain flexibility and prevent tension. In our workshops, you will learn many exercises that you can use to train your feet easily at home and actively treat your foot malposition.

Walk through life with more stability

The importance of foot stability for the entire body cannot be overestimated. With our holistic approach, we take this relevance into account and thus ensure a long-term improvement in foot stability – and therefore a healthier life.
